Welcome all!!! This is a place for artists of all type to submit and discuss concept artwork for 3d modellers. Whether it be drawn or photographed concept artwork, all of that is very in-demand in the 3d community.

How to submit:
Submit proper reference photos (described below) to your gallery or scraps or email them to the admin. Include any usage rules or limitations with yoru post and they will be copied to here. Send a note to the Admin or group account and the photos will be scaled/cropped so they line up properly, mirrored where necessary and posted to this gallery with your rules and limitations posted with it.

Proper reference photos:
What consists of a proper submission is a front/side/back photo of the model either in the rest state with arms held out, or the Leonardo DaVinci Vitruvian Man pose with legs apart. Camera should be mounted and lighting should be neutral (no direct flash) room lighting to avoid harsh flash shadows on the backdrop. Backdrop should be as plain as possible. Try to make sure that all photos are taken from same distance to model and at same height to avoid perspective changes. For face only, please ensure hair is pulled back so ears are visible unless hairstyle is part of the submission.

For drawn art:
Drawn art should consist of the same requirements as above, however the side view should avoid drawing the arm. [link] is the best example of concept artwork for 3d I've ever seen. If you can emulate that style, you'll have many loyal 3d modeller fans.

How to Join:
No purchase necessary, just send a note to this account and I'll get you added. Membership isn't necessarily the important part...submitting is important. Given this fact, submitting something will automatically be an application for admission.

This is NOT a group for 3d artists to join unless they plan on submitting reference work. Though 3d artists are welcomed to comment and devwatch.

PLEASE be sure to pay all submitting artists a visit to THEIR gallery! Make sure you notify THEM they you used their reference photos and make certain you FOLLOW their rules!
